Too Young for Chores

How old were you when your child was first given chores? Our 2 year old has two responsibilities... she helps unload the dishwasher and feed the dog. She was only given these chores because these are things she wants to do anyway. Having her help, allows her to do what she wants only when I want her to....

We got these because our 2 yr old figured out how to turn the stove on. While the covers were easy to install and do the job with out too much difficulty, they easily spin and flop around over the knob. I wish these had a way to "suction" onto the stove so that the latch to open the cover was always in the same place. Things have nearly boiled over because I couldn't get the cover open fast enough to turn the heat down and pot holders weren't handy to move what was on the stove.

I like the placemat, but I think we could do without the "food catcher. My daughter thinks this is a toy and ends up putting her food in there before eating it.
