Just for something different, I have tweaked our afternoon routine a little bit. We still come down into the family room after Emma eats her lunch. She gets to watch PBS while I eat my lunch and get caught up on e-mail, etc. It used to be, that we'd stay down in the family room until time for Emma's afternoon nap, but now the TV gets turned off between 1 & 1:30 PM and we play. We usually start playing in the family room, but we eventually migrate upstairs to the living room.
This simple change has made a huge difference for both of us. I think we are both a lot more relaxed now. We'll have to keep this up and see what comes from it.
