Faith

I am really struggling with my faith today. I really don't understand why God makes the most innocent suffer. Why must a young woman who found out she has cancer and pregnant virtually at the same time then have to have MORE problems right after her precious baby was born? I just don't understand! Why do children have to suffer the loss of a parent before they even get to know them? Why does a merciful God do that?
