Hurricane Ike came ashore during the night and we can breathe a sigh of relief that our family in the area is okay. Thankfully, it appears that most of the damage they have is to trees and yards and that homes are still secure.
I have to say though, the fact that it has been raining for the last couple of days in the Chicago area seems appropriate. It would feel "wrong" if the weather here was beautiful knowing that people we love are dealing with horrible weather.
