On last nights news, one of the top stories was that the Senate approved the $700 Billion bailout plan. But, they only approved it after $150 billion in earmarks were added. That's an AVERAGE of over $1 BILLION dollars per senator! These people should be ASHAMED of themselves! They have shamelessly taken advantage of the need to prop up our national economy by propping up the businesses and industries in their states.
I have serious doubts that the house will agree to the senate bill, so I doubt we'll see a bailout plan this week. This is where the President having a line item veto would be very handy.
